Irvine stays in F1 for 2003

Eddie Irvine claimed his first podium in almost 18 months yesterday at Monza. The Jaguar ace finished behind the two dominant Ferrari's and later revealed that his future has been decided.

Irvine raced hard from a fifth place on the grid and benefitted from the Williams-BMW retirement's early in the race.

Speaking after his emotional podium place, the Ulsterman said: "I know what I am doing next year and this does not change anything at all.

"My future is bright and it's all pretty much decided. I know what I want to do, people will just have to wait and see."

Irvine is widely expected to race alongside Giancarlo Fisichella at Jordan Honda next season.
