Plans for Renault's revolutionary 111° V-angle engine goes up in smoke

The Renault team may abandon plans to develop a revolutionary 111° V-angle engine for next season. Reports in the Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport state that the design would mean less reliability and less performance than the team's current power unit.

Renault's plans may well have been put into place had it not been for the introduction of rules for next season stating that F1 teams can have just one engine per car per weekend.
